MVA Rollover in Whitney Point NY with Entrapment

On Wednesday Sept 16, 2009 the Whitney Point Fire Department responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on NY Route 206.  Upon arrival Chief Nick Sculley found a single car had rolled over into a culvert, landing back on its tires.  A single female occupant was trapped in the vehicle.

Ed McManus, the Northeast Regional Manager for Genesis Rescue Tools, was in the area and responded to the scene to assist.  A spreader and cutter were deployed from the Genesis demo truck and ready to go when the first engine arrived on the scene.  Firefighters utilized stabilization struts and cribbing to stabilize the vehicle.  The roof and doors of the vehicle were removed to allow for patient removal.  The patient was transported by ambulance to the hospital
